Corporate Watch is an online magazine and resource center designed to provide people with an array of tools that they can use to investigate and analyze corporate activity. Regular features include a Nike sweatshop watch and updates on corporate globalization. The Multinational Monitor is an online version of a monthly magazine that tracks corporate activity, especially in developing countries, focusing on the export of hazardous substances, worker health and safety, labour union issues and the environment. Accountability is a UK based a professional body committed to strengthening social responsibility and ethical behaviour of the business community and NGOs. Please add your name to a global petition urging WTO members to change patent rules in order to allow the poor to have greater access to inexpensive drugs. Business for Social Responsibility is an US based membership organization that helps companies be commercially successful while demonstrating ethical responsibility. The Social Investment Organization is a national non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of a socially and environmentally sustainable society through socially responsible investment (SRI) and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Details of a CBC Television ‘Market Place’ story about ethical funds, as well as many resulting news stories. Includes a valuable page of links to other ethical investment sites. A list of Canadian businesses offering ethical investments, with links to their web sites. The Ethical Consumer Website provides a good deal of information on all facets of ethical consumerism, including it’s history and a listing of successful consumer boycotts. The site also provides a section in which surfers can access online ethical records of companies. The Fairtrade Foundation site provides background information and criteria on the Fairtrade concept and the resulting Fairtrade Mark. It also looks at some of the products available and relevant links and literature. |
